My name is Shaun Trezise and I am an experienced English teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience. I hold a bachelors degree in English language and Business studies and have a passion for helping my students improve their language skills and achieve their academic and career goals.

My aim is to provide a  guide to people who want to improve their English. I work directly with you to create a learning plan that will help you achieve your goals. Some examples of typical goals are listed below

Smart learning goals examples

  1. Complete a business English language course and pass the final exam with a grade of 80% or higher within the next 6 months.
  2. Achieve a score of at least 600 on the TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) within the next 12 months.
  3. Improve reading comprehension of business-related texts by 50% within the next 6 months.
  4. Increase vocabulary related to business and finance by at least 200 words within the next 6 months.
  5. Develop the ability to deliver a professional presentation in English with 95% fluency within the next 12 months.
  6. Achieve a score of at least 8 on the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) in the speaking and listening sections within the next 6 months.
  7. Improve writing skills in English by writing at least 2 business-related emails or letters per week for the next 12 months.

Learning plan example

Week 1:

  • Review the course syllabus and set personal learning goals for the next 8 weeks.
  • Take a diagnostic test to identify areas of weakness.
  • Review the basics of English grammar and sentence structure.

Week 2:

  • Focus on vocabulary building in the context of business and finance.
  • Read a variety of business-related texts and articles to improve reading comprehension.
  • Complete vocabulary and comprehension quizzes.

Week 3:

  • Practice listening skills by listening to business-related podcasts and videos.
  • Take note of new vocabulary and phrases learned.
  • Complete listening comprehension quizzes.

Week 4:

  • Focus on improving writing skills in the context of business communication.
  • Write at least one business-related email or letter per week.
  • Review and edit with the help of a tutor or native speaker.

Week 5:

  • Practice delivering a professional presentation in English.
  • Rehearse and record a presentation.
  • Review and receive feedback from Shaun

Week 6:

  • Review and practice grammar and sentence structure in the context of business communication.
  • Complete grammar quizzes and exercises.

Week 7:

  • Review and practice all material covered throughout the 8 weeks.
  • Take practice exams to prepare for the final exam.

Week 8:

  • Take the final exam and receive feedback on performance.
  • Reflect on personal learning goals and evaluate progress made throughout the 8 weeks.

Note: This is a general 8 weeks learning plan and it can be adjusted to suit the individual’s learning pace, language level, and availability. It’s important to have regular check-ins with Shaun to make sure you are on the right track and to keep you motivated throughout the learning process.
